CHEVROLET BLUEGRASS NIGHT
AT THE RYMAN AUDITORIUM

NASHVILLE, TENN. - The Ryman Auditorium will host its annual Bluegrass Night [link] series at the Ryman each Thursday at 7:30 pm from June 20-August 1, 2002 (excluding July 4). This year’s series, sponsored by Chevrolet, will include Vince Gill, Doc Watson, Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, The Del McCoury Band, Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, and IIIrd Tyme Out.

“We are pleased to have the Chevrolet Bluegrass Nights returning to the Ryman Auditorium,” said Pam Matthews, general manager of the Ryman Auditorium. “The Ryman has been an extensive part of bluegrass music throughout its history and we’re honored to continue the tradition.”

Multi-Gram winner, Vince Gill, returns to the Ryman stage to kick off the Bluegrass Night series on June 20. Doc Watson, an influence on generations of acoustic musicians, will appear June 27.

After a July 4 holiday break, the Ryman’s Bluegrass Night returns July 11 with the vocal and instrumental talent of Rhonda Vincent and The Rage. The following Thursday, July 18, the Del McCoury Band, who has had a hand in the recent resurgence of bluegrass music, will perform.

Gram winner Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys return to the Ryman stage on July 25 and rounding out the Bluegrass Night series on August 1 is IIIrd Tyme Out.

Preceding the Thursday night concerts, the Ryman Auditorium will host Pickin’ in the Plaza. This event, from 6 pm – 7 pm allows the public to try their hand at bluegrass in a “jam session” setting. Local vendors will sell food outside of the Ryman for hungry patrons who want dinner and a show.

A Bluegrass Series Pass, a pass that will amt one person into all six shows, is $85.00, a savings of $26.00. Single show tickets are $18.50 and may be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Ryman Box Office, or by calling (615) 889-3060, or visiting www.ryman.com.
