Autographed Ryman Guitars to be Offered on eBay to Benefit Opry Trust Fund

NASHVILLE, TENN (February 19, 2001) - The Ryman Auditorium announced today the donation of seven autographed Ryman Limited Edition Acoustic Guitars to be offered for sale on eBay. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these guitars will go to the Opry Trust Fund.

The Opry Trust Fund gives financial assistance in time of need, emergency or catastrophe to people who were or are actively engaged in the country music industry. Confidential disbursements cover everything from replacement of belongings after fires to general expenses, such as food and electric bills, to healthcare and funeral expenses.

The Ryman Limited Edition Acoustic guitars were crafted by Washburn International from a select number of original Ryman Auditorium church pews (circa 1892). The pews were salvaged from the 1993 renovation of the Ryman by Gaylord Entertainment.

Each of these rare instruments to be listed on eBay is autographed by one of the great recording artists that have performed at the historic Ryman Auditorium. A new guitar will be auctioned monthly.

The first Ryman Guitar, autographed by the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Brad Paisley, goes up for auction today, Monday, February 19th at 1 pm The final auction will take place on August 13th for the "Grand Ole Opry 75th Anniversary Guitar." This extremely rare guitar will feature signatures by Garth Brooks, Loretta Lynn, Lorrie Morgan, Dolly Parton, Steve Wariner and other Opry greats.
