GRAND OLE OPRY RETURNS TO RYMAN AUDITORIUM FOR TWO-MONTH RUN
PLAY A PART IN COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY AT THE RYMAN AUDITORIUM

NASHVILLE - The Grand Ole Opry is 75 years old. It embraces the traditions of American music as well as playing a vital role in introducing new talent to its audience. The Opry will return to the historic Ryman Auditorium this weekend, beginning a two-month run by hosting contemporary and legendary artists on the same stage. Something the Opry does with every performance.

The Ryman was recently named the "best live music venue" by Nashville's citysearch.com and was home to the Opry for many years prior to its move the Opry House in 1974. This is the third consecutive year the world's longest running live radio show has held a limited number of performances at the Ryman.

Opry members scheduled to appear this weekend are Bill Anderson, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Connie Smith and Marty Stuart. Brad Paisley, who will become an official Opry member at the Ryman on February 17, will be joined by other special guests this weekend including Mandy Barnett, Del McCoury Band, Daryle Singletary, Chalee Tennison and Tennessee Mafia Jug Band. Throughout the months of January and February there will be appearances by Opry members Travis Tritt, Steve Wariner and guests Terri Clark, Clay Davidson, Andy Griggs, Darryl Worley, the Old Crow Medicine Show and many more.

"Live from the Opry" online chats will continue every Friday night during the Ryman run. Chatting Friday, January 5 at www.opry.com are Jan Howard, 8:00-8:30pm Central, and Daryle Singletary, 8:30-9pm Central.

Show times for Opry at the Ryman are Friday- 7:30pm and Saturday- 6:30 & 9:30pm (Central). Tickets are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children and may be purchased at 615.889.3060 or online at www.opry.com.

Later this month Opry fans can also see a rebroadcast of the CBS Television Special "Grand Ole Opry 75th- A Celebration." Special airings will occur during January on CMT- January 20, 7pm, January 21, 9pm, January 25, 6pm and January 27, 11am - all times Central.
